poms

Question Posted Monday August 14 2006, 10:18 am

I am going into the 8th grade this month, and next year I'll be a freshman. I really want to try out for highskool (freshman) poms becuase i LOVE to dance, but I'm not sure what exactly you have to be able to do. (flips, splits, turns, ect.) could someone tell me?

at my school, the dance team is VERY skilled. the tryouts are in april and they practice all summer. they do pom, kick & hip hop so maybe its more challenging? anyway, a lot of people try out but it's hard to get in. you basically have to have your technique down, good jumps, really flexible (splits in every direction), 4 turns, and flips are a plus. Sooo it really depends on the team. ask someone that has been on that school's team before. it will help to know someone on it too. <3
