I had really bad acne so I went to a dermatologist and they gave me some really good things to rid of the zits. I guess I used them too much and I completely dried out my face. My nose and cheeks are soo red because I irritated my face. I went back to the dermatologist and they said to just stop putting stuff on my face and wait for 2 or 3 days to see if the redness goes away. It's been like 4 days and my face is still soo dried out and the zits are still there. What can I do to stop the irritation on my face? I waited a couple of days and that didn't work.
uisforukelele answered Friday August 11 2006, 5:20 pm: okay, get some face moisturizer/lotion to put on your face. it will restore the moisture to your skin and hopefully make it look better. as for the zits, it may take them a while to go away. i know that for the face medicine differin, it's supposed to really dry out your face before it actually starts working so this doesn't mean that your acne will never go away, it just might take a while. wait until your skin is back to normal and then start using the medicines again, but also apply a face moisturizer (like oil of olay or neutrogena) regularly with use of the face medicine. do this for a while and you'll start seeing results! ductape_n_roses answered Friday August 11 2006, 5:19 pm: I have the saem problem. I use differin [sp?] cream every other night. The dermatologist prescribed me benzeclin but that dries out my skin so i don't use it.
when my skin dried out and it was hurting, this is what i did. i cut off all the medications and washed my face with cold water twice a day with cetaphil. make sure to use a cotton pad or a wash cloth and don't was your face with your hands like in commercials.
afte you was your face, you an oil free, dermatologist tested face cream. there's one from neutrogina that is oil free and won't clog your pores. also, there's a brand of cream called DML which the dermatologist gave me to use.
the irritation may last a week or so. when it goes away, wait for two or three more days. then see what the dermotologist say. or just put on the cream every other day and put in oil free lotion everday and put on a thin layer ontop of the medicine you put on ur face. if you see a light sign of irritation completely stop the use and see what other medication you can have. you can also ask for adroxin i believe it is. it's an oral medicine and it works very well =]
if you want more and complete details just ask me and i'll give you a list of what to do, what not to do, what cream to use, and what kinds of medications you can ask your dermotologist about =] [ ductape_n_roses's advice column | Ask ductape_n_roses A Question ]
