sleep and circles

Question Posted Monday August 7 2006, 9:47 pm

hi. ok lately i have been REALLY tired. i mean i get enough sleep. i get between 9-11 hours of sleep and during the school year i got around 9. but i feel so tired! like in magazines i read that thats enough time to not make you tired. and i have such dark circles on my eyes. and i cant get them to go away. i tried that old spoon thing where you freeze it and place it over. didnt work. i tried covering it with cover up. wouldnt lighten up. i dont know how to get rid of it. so basically im asking how do i get rid of the circles and why am i so tired if i get enough sleep?

There are a lot of possible causes of lethargy, although you should really discuss it with your doctor. Some prime examples are:

Sleep related conditions: Problems such as sleep apnoea (where you stop breathing during your sleep for a few seconds are are roused temporarily as a result.) However, this is most common in those who are classed as overweight and in some cases, those who have had their tonsils removed.

Vitamin/Mineral Deficiencies: Sometimes are bodies, for whatever reason, lack to ability to absorb certain nutrients from food and drink. Iron and B12 deficiencies, for example, are relatively common, causing anaemia and perncious anaemia. One of the most common symptoms of anaemia is lethargy, so again, this is a possibility.

Of course, I am not a doctor and while these are possibilities, day-to-day things such as lifestyle changes, stress, diet and so on have to be taken into account.

I would strongly recommend that if this pattern of exhaustion continues for more than two weeks, you should speak to your doctor, who will be able to perform tests and, hopefully, provide a diagnosis. In the meantime, try to take things easy and not worry about it too much, as this could make it worse.

Go to a spa, just relax there and let them make you a cuccummber mask. Or better yet, do it at home where you dont have to spend too much money. maybe you are sleeping too much, wake up a little bit earlier.

I hope I helped!

Hey,
Sometimes when a person doesn't sleep enough as well as when a person sleeps TOO MUCH, then he feels really tired and unable to do anything or concentrate on anything. So why don't you just try to wake up early everyday and do stretches and exercises first thing in the morning then go running or something and have a huge breakfast adn take vitamins ,and then you will feel better and fresher and much better, and if you get used to doing this everymorning, then you won't feel sleepy or tired, and actually you will feel very active and fresh and then you won't have dark circles under your eyes.
And maybe you could also consider taking up a sport or something, because they help in making you more fit and active.
