Im looking to start figure skating in the fall. What are the things to look for when you buy skates? and do you know the best kind to buy? brand? and if i wear size 8 1/2-9 shoe..what size skate will i wear? thanks if you have anything else to add it would be great! by the way im 15 and female

Maybe give some free advice about: Sports? xObEaChbAbEoX answered Thursday August 3 2006, 11:16 pm: i figure skate myself but i think you should try it for a month before you want to buy decent skates because i know some people who have boughten skates the second day they started and decided to quit and its not like there five dollars for really good ones. But on amazon they have skates for begginers around $30. For some decent ones riedel has some for $200. But when you get more advanced (maybe after 3 years) a good pair would be $500.
PS. dont order online cause skates are different in sizes make sure you go to your local skating store and have someone measure your foot and ask <b> then </b> what they would recommend for someone who has just started
