broken finger

ok.i broke my finger.long story how but any way.i got a splint or brace on it and i cant take it of except when i take a shower and that is every single day.well when i take it off the splint it smells like dirty shoes.i washed my hands over and over and the smell goes away but as soon as i put my finger back in the splint it smells again.i tried washing the brace but that does not work.i was wondering if there r any ways 2 get the smell gone.

hey, when i had my splint on i sprayed mine with febreeze. also after you get out fo the shower let the splint "air out" for a while.

in addition to spraying the splint with something (I suggest woolite or a product made for fabric scents, not humans) you also need to keep it off when you get out of the shower for about a half-hour (and don't use your hand) to wait for your finger to completely dry. the smell is possibly a sign of slight molding because of trapped water. the same thing happened to me two years ago when I had a broken finger.

I have a similar problem with a splint on my leg. I've been covering the smell with Axe body spray. If you spray your splint with something like Axe or Tag after you take it off and let it sit while you're in the shower, the smell should at least be less potent and, over time, go away completely.
