Healthy foods

Question Posted Wednesday August 2 2006, 1:25 pm

I have been on a diet (well kind of...sometimes i give in to cravings) for about 2 weeks..which is not long at all i know. My problem is...I dont like the taste of healthy foods, my favorite foods that i always want are among the most unhealthy foods! I was wondering if anyone has advice on some healthy foods that taste good and also ways to control cravings.

I was like you and didn't like the taste of healthy foods at all, so what I did was integrate them slowly into my diet. Also you may just be yearning for something "junky" so you could try setting aside one day every 2 weeks or so to have a few of your favorite foods. There are tons of healthier junk foods too if you are dying for chocolate there are slimfast chocolate bars, atkins ones, and lots more. Also popcorn without tons of butter is not that bad for you. if you want to eat veggies use dip, but low fat/low calorie ones.

Hope this helps

some great healthy foods include fruits, but you have to be careful because they contain a lot of sugar, but it is natural therefor better for you. something you can do is make a smoothie with different fruits, a fruit juice (perferably not consentrate) and some ice. a place you can go to to find many healthy foods is wild oats, they have many organic foods, and many uncommon foods that you would not normally think of. whole grain cereals are great such as special k, and for snacks go for granola bars, there are 90 calorie granola bars with chocolate, which taste great, and you get your chocolate fill. try looking out for saturated fats and trans fats, those are the worst, you do need some saturated fats but not too much. just rememebr everything in moderation, you can still have that hot fudge brownie sunday, but dont make it huge, and dont have it every night.

some ways to curve cravings include chew gum and also having something to drink, sometimes you just get cravings for flavor, try crystal light they have many great flavors and only 5 calories a serving.

when you sit around and do nothing you can tend to get bored and then eat just to have something to do, instead try and keep buisy!

hope this helps!

well...you dont have to stop eating the foods you like..you can basically eat everything you want just cut it in half so its not a lot this way you wont have so many cravings. so yeah eat the healthy foods too but you can also eat the foods you like. oh and you can add all diff. kinds if seasonings to the healthy foods to give extra flavor.
hope i helped
