Shes leaving

Question Posted Wednesday August 2 2006, 1:06 am

i work with this girl that is leaving for college in about 2 weeks. Shes been working in this store for a year and a half. She doesnt do anything that actually helps the store out because she leaves it for everyone else to.

Im a senior and im staying at my job. Shes telling me and everyone else that after college lets out for the summer next year she is coming back and they are hiring her back and shes going to be gettting a promotion.

Now i really dont think she deserves to come back and get a job right away nor a promotion.

What can i do to make sure this girl does not get her job back? Or should i should let it go?

Hey. Whether you are in school, work, sports, or any group activity there will always be somebody that is lazy or leaves work to other people. All I can really say is work your hardest and don't let her get to you. If you do well and you like your job maybe you could get promoted to. If she gets a promotion you think you deserve talk to the manager, possibly in advanced, and just tell him that you have worked hard and want to know if you could possibly be a candidate for a promotion. As for the girl, live and let live. Someday she'll figure out that things aren't always going to come so easily to her. Good luck

You will find in pretty much every single job you have there is one person who does nothing and gets rewarded for it. I wouldn't worry about her coming back next summer or getting a promotion she could be all talk and even if she is telling the truth alot can and does happen in a year. Eventually she will screw up and get caught, you pointing out that she is a lazy useless person will only make you look like you are jealous (which your not).

It sucks but these people self destruct sooner or later.

Honestly let it go,
it would be worse of you to do anything to make sure she doesnt get her job back.
That would be just mean, it may not seem fair, but if you hadnt heard already, life isnt fair =/.
I mean maybe she may not do much, but if shes a good person, thats probably why they are hiring her back, because she is fun to be around, and they like that. You know?
If she didnt do anything at ALL, then they wouldnt be hiring her back, so she must be doing something.
