The Butler Did It - Theater At my local theater, the next play is going to be The Butler Did It.
I have tried searching everywhere on the Internet, using Google, Dogpile and Yahoo search engines to find something - anything - about this play. I want to audition, but I don't want to waste my time if there are no roles for my age. I'm fifteen, I'm a female.
If anyone knows anything about The Butler Did It, please share. It's very frustrating because I can't find anything at all about it.
Thanks.

Hi there,
This is one of those cases where you have to know a little about the play to get anything useful from the search engines.
The author of the play is Tim Kelly, so try this:
... and you will find out all you need to know.
As for your age and gender... if I recall correctly there are 5 female and 5 male roles in the play. The ages will depend on your cast.
If you are doing this at school, then the rest of the cast will be close to your age.
If you are auditioning at the local senior center, well that would be different. :-)
Have fun,

I've seen The Butler Did It. It's one of the most hilarious plays I have ever seen. if I remember correctly it's a murder mystery in which everyone can be considered a Butler. It's extremely confusing to read, but very funny to see. I saw it done by a local college, but I can imagine that it could work out for all ages. You're better off figuring out the type of person the company hires rather than those needed in the show. The company I work with, for instance, does a lot of adult shows but only casts 8-25 year-olds. If it seems like all of the people cast are 60+ then it could be a waste of time to audition, but if they've got a wide variety of ages in a variety of shows you really should audition. Even if you don't get in they could consider you for something else later on. ]
