Some artists that I strongly recomend are
-Michelle branch ex)goodbye to you, tuesday morning, desperately, till i get over you, its you, something to sleep to, drop in the ocean
-Jessica harp (its hard to find ehr solo stuff, you might want to try sites like purevolume.com or try a yahoo media search, but trust me its worth it)ex) nothing less than love, over me, and memphis
-The wreckers have a couple of good slow songs they are jessica harp and michelle branch)ex)tennesee, rain(more upbeat), cigarettes, hard to love you, the good kind
-Megan slankard ex) dirty wings
-Anna nalick(i would really recomend the song catalyst, your first impression of the lyrics might not be right, listen more carefully and you will understand) ex) catalyst, wreck of the day, satalight, citadel

These artists have really good lyrics and it should help you get through that tough day you are having, feel better :) feel free to ask me directly a question if you want any more artists for any mood your in :)

listen to some bright eyes or elliott smith if you want to keep being depressed.
if you're down listen to some 'happy' music [ex.Of Montreal]

"Slipped Away"
I miss you, miss you so bad
I don't forget you, oh it's so sad
I hope you can hear me
I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same
Ooooh

Nah nah la la la nah nah

I didn't get around to kiss you
Goodbye on the hand
I wish that I could see you again
I know that I can't

Oooooh
I hope you can hear me cause I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same
Ooooh
