Weight

Question Posted Sunday July 23 2006, 1:59 pm

I'm 15/f 110 pounds and 5'3". I ride my bike 1-2 miles 3-5 days a week (to work) and sometimes 10 miles or less on Saturdays. I do sit-ups sometimes before I go to bed. But still I feel kinda fat. What's a simple way to lose a few pounds? Like an example of daily meals to eat and excercises to do?

Using the data you gave, I calculated your Body Mass Index (BMI).

Your weight in Kilograms divided by the square of height in meters.

I calculate your BMI as 19.5

According to BMI tables for children and teens at the CDC website, you fall into the 44th Percentile for your age/sex group.

That places you at or slightly below your ideal weight. Very much in the healthy range.

(You can use the CDC calculator yourself, it's at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location))

So, the case is, even though you "feel kinda fat", as you say, you really aren't.

You should ask some guys you know for their honest opinion if you're doubting the calculations (girls might just give you a catty answer)

If you're comparing yourself to some of those "waifish" models out there, realize that they're downright undernourished... I personally think that seeing a girl's ribs poking out is repelling. Not to mention that its not healthy for a growing young lady.

So, rest assured that you're NOT fat. Keep up the exercise and the healthy diet, and enjoy yourself!

I think you should not get overworked about your weight. Because you are not over weight. It's good to exeresize, but maybe not with your thinness. Hope I helped.

5'3 and 110 lbs! you are not fat! you are underweight! you dont need a diet... you actually need to see a doctor, maybe even a therapist becasue it seems to me like you have a problem.
