You can, but just make sure you don't sit your iPod in the tanning bed with you, that will mess it up. So, if you use it in the tanning bed, leave it on a table or the floor. =]

I know tons of people who bring their IPods with them to the tanning beds, but some of them say that its better to leave it on a table or something so that the IPod doesnt overheat.

Well, it should be fine. If there's a table by the tanning bed, I'd leave the actual ipod out of the tanning bed & place it there (just to be safe.) The headphones are perfectly fine to wear because I use the headphones for the radio they provide already.

Where i go tanning at there is a radio in the tanning bed.. Ummmm but i wouldn`t suggest taking a ipod in the tanning bed.. Where the cord goes i`m sure will touch you somewhere on your body && it could streak you or watever.. But most of the time you can listen to music there at the tanning salon

Where I go tanning, their sign said not to bring anything in. You can listen to it but when my friend did, she got a line from where the head phones were. Usually, in tanning salons they play the radio but you can still listen to your iPod even though it's not the best thing. Ask someone who works there for sure.
