Well, it depends how long you've had your period. It wouldn't neccessarily be bad for your body, but it would definitely be uncomfortable if you used a tampon during your first period. What would be bad for your body is if you didn't change your tampon or used heavy-absorbing ones, which can cause you to get TSS.

First off, I don't agree with the person who gave you advice before me. Using a tampon when you first start is perfectly fine! I've used them since I started getting my period, and I haven't had any problems! The way to make sure that you are comfortable when wearing a tampon is having the right size and having it in the proper position. To start out I would try wearing a regular,if that is too big, wear a lite/junior or if it is too small, wear a super. To make sure you have it in correctly, you want to put it in at the same angle as the "hole" and push it back pretty far, probably just a little further taht you actually want to. Also, so make it more comfortable to go in, try a plactic applicator instead of a cardboard one! Hope this all helps you!
