can u have sex if you have cold sores without kissing but just having sex? and can someone describe a cold sore because i'm becoming worried of what is on my mouth. Before there was some kind of pimple on the corner of my lips so i popped it, which was maybe a month ago or so. then somewhere last week i got this red mark and bumps on my lips but i've been using abreva and i'm not sure if it actually worked. i really need an answer. please someone..give me an answer. after the cold sores can you also kiss a person? since cold sores i heard will always be there.? thank you to those who took the time to read this and answering it..

Yes, you can have sex with a cold sore. If you don't want to pass your cold sore on, then don't kiss. (I warn you though, it's not easy) haha. Anyways, I was pretty sure it was a cold sore until you said abreave wasn't working. Now i'm not so sure. Here is a picture of a cold sore, if it looks anything like this, that's most likely what it is.

And yes, after your cold sore goes away, you can kiss again. They won't always be there, but they can scar. So be careful not to pick at it, and take good care of it also.

Hey, Yes you can have sex just no kissing cause you will give the coldsore to your partner. A coldsore is just like the previous answer says a big red pimple that gets scabby and is painful.
A coldscore does go away but you will always have the virus that causes it and it will come back especially if you are under stress. It is the same virus as Herpes so if you have an active one and give your boyfriend a blowjob he could get herpes. If you visit your doctor there are medicines that he can perscribe to lessen outbreaks and make a coldsore go away more quickly. Unfortunatley there is no cure though.

Of course you can have sex with a cold sore. Just as long as you dont kiss, cause you dont want to get hurt.
A cold sore looks like a red pimple, only its alot bigger, and can kinda look scabby-ish. But if you pop it, it just keeps coming back. Because its bacteria, you should go to your local drug store(rite-aid, cvs, watever) and get some cold-sore ointment.
If you keep using it, it should be gone within a week.
