bamf
Bamf is an interjection / onomatopoeia. "Bamf" in the Marvel Universe relates to the X-Men character Nightcrawler and the resulting sound he makes when he transports himself. The sound is caused by air rushing into the area where Nightcrawler's body once was.
"Bamf", outside of the X-Men world, is used mostly by comic book fans or any other person who knows about Nightcrawler. It can be used as an expression meaning "All of a sudden".
For example: "I was walking down the street when BAMF! I dropped a tomato!"
Other meanings
Comedian Dane Cook is believed to have coined the acronym, BAMF as being "Bad Ass Mother Fucker" even though influential punk band Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers released an album entitled LAMF thirty years prior to this.
