ScratchesOnTheWall answered Wednesday July 5 2006, 6:53 am: Skip the articles in magazines about "How To Lose A Stone In X Days!/ Tone Up For A Fab Summer Body!/Another Insulting Article Disguised With a Peppy Tagline!". It's not the pictures of girls that promote stupid body image is the stupid little digs at confidence in the writing suggesting you're slightly inadequete the way you are.
Get away from all the crap about the "ideal body" and try to take a fresh look at yourself. Focus on the things you like about how you look and treat yourself to clothes/products that you feel good in for no other reason than you deserve it. The more you tell yourself this the better you'll feel and nothing looks better on a person than confidence and happiness. [ ScratchesOnTheWall's advice column | Ask ScratchesOnTheWall A Question ]
AskAndy answered Tuesday July 4 2006, 9:49 pm: you find good things about your body and emphasize them through clothes that make those parts look better. make sure these clothes make the worse parts look better too, and be sure your comfortable wearing them. plus if you practice accepting your body instead of rejecting it you will get used to saying and meaning good things about your body. then always remember its what is on the inside that counts, so make sure you know what you lack on the outside can easily be made up for on your inside [ AskAndy's advice column | Ask AskAndy A Question ]
DefinedEyes answered Tuesday July 4 2006, 8:28 pm: You eat healthy and exercise regulary.
The way I see it is, you only get one body, not two or three for spares, but one.
You want to take the best care of it as you can.
Drink a lot of water to flush the bad stuff out of your body.
And to accept your body mentally, be happy with yourself, look in the mirror and be happy with what you see. A lot of people look at themselves and arent happy beacuse say they have a little extra tummy fat, oh well! It can be fixed, some crunches and a nice diet will do fine. Just dont be too self critical, remember no one is perfect. :]
