I used to work for one of the stores under GAP Inc i.e. Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic et cetera
I worked during the Christmas season and am filling out an application for AE and it's aking me whether they should be contacted. Does anyone know if they provide references? And if so, what do they say? Do they just confirm that I worked there or do they give out details?

AE won't contact your past employers if you check the box indicating that you don't want them to. I'm pretty sure that when they call they will confirm that you worked there and also ask things about your past attendance records, lateness, willingness to work, and so on. They might also ask past employers if they would re-hire you again if you were to apply.
I would reccomend letting them call your past employers because it doesn't really look good if you say that you don't want them to. It makes it look like you're trying to hide something. [ devilspawn_666's advice column | Ask devilspawn_666 A Question ]
