parents

Question Posted Friday June 30 2006, 5:33 pm

ok so there is this guy that i like and he likes me, but i dont think his parents like me, they dont really seem like the kind of parents that like his friends and ive been to his house before and there not like overly friendly. Hes not like one of those losers either whos parents dont like him dateing, he gets in trouble for having partys and stuff like that. He allways says that he hates his mom but like idk. I want to go out with him but im scared that if his parents dont like me it wont work. I was wondering if anyone has gone out with someone there parents didn't like or the person they went out with parents didn't like them. please help:(

Since you both like each other, I think you should both go out because it's both of your decisions, not his parents. My boyfriend's step-dad doesn't like my boyfriend's brother's girlfriend [ if that makes sense ] & she knows it but she just ignores their step-dad. My boyfriend's brother & his girlfriend have been together for almost a year, they don't care what the step-dad thinks. I'm pretty sure my mom doesn't like my boyfriend, but I love him, & she can't make me leave him because it's my choice, not hers. I've been with him for over a year & I couldn't be happier.

haha!! I know what you mean, my parents could NOT stand my ex. If he truly likes you he'll go out with you, it's not up to his parents. I told mine, it's my choice and if something bad happens it's my mistake, not yours. Don't be worry, most teenagers don't care what their parents think about who their dating. If it's meant to be it's meant to be!Good Luck!!!

i think if you really like this guy alot, you should definetely go out with him!! there are many ways to hang out where the parents dont even have to be involved..such as the movies..the guy could always tell his parents hes going to meet some friends at the movies if it comes to the point where they dont want him seeing you there.maybe his parents just take a while to open up to people..they have no reason to dislike you right? so theyre probably just not friendly but if you are super nice to them hopefully they'll change! although parents can screw up alot of things in our lives..you shouldnt let them get in the way of a possibly wonderful relationship.
