Driving from NY to VA I am taking a road trip on Saturday 7/1, driving from Rochester, NY to Virginia Beach, VA.
I have heard that there has been heavy rain causing flooding en-route and through PA.
I have also heard that there are roads being closed.
Is there truth to this, and if so is it possible for me to drive? Is it just local roads that are closed?
Thanks for the advice!

i wouldnt take a risk. the whole northeastern shore got hit with major water. my grampa travels for a living. he is currently in maryland, and he said that all the surrounding states are completely covered in water, stretching all the way down to virginia. i wouldnt take that risk. maybe you could reschedule the trip for next week. im guessing that conditions should be at least a little bit better by then. ]
Take this from me, (I live in PA)
Its very bad on alot of roads.
I would cheak the route your taking and search the web to make sure they're still open, it's possible that some are re opening since the amoutn of rain we've been getting is slowly going down. ]
wow that is soo wierd. i live in rochester and im going to virginia on saturday too! i would really like to know about this too..so everyone please help if you know anything about this! ]
this is very true. im in new york and only abour 10 minutes from pa. everything has been flooded the past 2 days. but its getting better. some highways got messed up like 88.but are being fixed and opened. roads throughout pa and lower ny close to pa. i know are closed. but im pretty sure you should be able to make it VA saturday because they are working hard everywhere to clean it up and the water is also going down pretty fast.
..good luck. ]
