I`ve been a cheerleader for almost 6 years, all-star for 4 and rec for two. I just cheer for my school`s squad now. I have the worst mental block. I was working on my full, then one day I went in and couldn`t even throw a handspring. I never got hurt and my tumbling was beautiful and fluent. What happened? I want to tumble so badly now, but when I try I get freaked out and can`t get myself to go backwards. I haven`t been able to tumble in 2 and a half years, horrible I know. I can tumbling with a light spot, or even just someone standing there, but when they step away I freak. I`ve tried, "Just throwing it" and imagining myself doing it perfectly but none of that works. Can anyone help me? I want to get all my tumbling back cause I`m at cheer camp this week and I`m so jealous of all my squadmates!

Surround yourself with people who are constantly giving you confidence that you CAN tumble again!....if you are doing it perfectly with a light spot or sumone standing there then you are going to do fine once they move away. Imagine that they are standing there when you try and throw it! You will be fine! With cheer camp coming up you will be having so much fun that hopefully you will forget about the mindblock and just try it! once you do it once im confident that you can do it over and over!! good luck!!
