Because emos are silly children who wear too much eyeliner, pick out every single little problem in their life and act like depressed drama king/queens about it because they're bored with their own lives and want to attract some attention.
I'm starting to get annoyed when everybody jumps on me for steriotyping. People say "not all emos are the same." The very definition of an emo is what I mentioned above. It's like saying "stop steriotyping humans for having legs!" If you hate someone just because they DRESS emo, then that's a steriotype because you're just judging them by the way they dress. Anyone can like whatever clothing style they want. But it's the attitude that I mentioned: silly children who wear too much eyeliner, pick out every single flaw in their life and act like depressed drama king/queens about it because they're bored with their own lives and want to attract some attention. To be a true emo, you have to have the attitude, and it's the attitude that is so ridiculous.

I don't even know why they would hate a non existing thing. Emo is a type of music, emotive hardcore. But, if you're going to follow the crowd, people think that, as you call them, emo's are teens who want attention. Then again, its a stereotype. Along with Prep, Nerd, ect.

First of all, there is NO emo. People are so stupid these days. Stupid typical teenagers, being stupid. Stereotypes are completely stupid.
And the reason people hate them is because people who supposively are, supposively are always depressed, and always cutting themselves, and want to die.
It's all bull!
Everyone has emotions, and one point in everyones' life they feel like dying. In one point in everyones' life do they feel the need to live no longer. At one point in everyones' life, they are depressed. At one point in peoples' life do feel the only way to escape these feelings is by hurting themselves.
Stop being so freaking retarded, there are no stereotypes.
We are all human beings, that's our stereotype.

Well cause most of the time they are just depressed and have no emotion and seem borring. Then some pople dont like them just because they are called "emo" cause most of the time thier not the most popular bunch.

Well, they are depressed *mostly* white kids that decide to pick out every problem in their life and mope about it, they cut themselves to feel like they are alive, and they are conceited. Does that sound attractive?
Not to be mean, but I don't like emo people. I like their style, I get called emo 3 times a day on average, but I just think that they need to get a life and stop moping about the world. And if you classify yourself as emo, you aren't really emo.
If you are gonna give me a one for speaking my opinion, don't bother rating me, please.

because people view the "emos" as a bunch of spoiled white teens from middle class families who live in the suburbs that manage to find problems in their lives and who just want attention or are just following a trend.
