The only thing you can do is try to make her aware of the problems associated with smoking. Mind you Im not saying it will work, it didnt on me when I was young, but its your greatest chance. Ratting on her wont produce the desired effect, since she will probably find a way to smoke anyway.

On the bright side... she still has some time in which she can quit without any major health risks. There were a couple of studies done in recent years that concluded that if you quit by the age of 30 or so, you will avoid most of the major health risks from smoking. Now, of course sooner is always better, but at least theres a brighter side to the situation.

The worst part really is the habit. The longer she smokes the harder it will be to quit as she will begin to identify smoking with daily activities (e.g as a means to relax, as something you do after eating etc). Try to convey that to her.

Unfortunately most smokers dont realise the power of the addiction until they are already hooked. They dont understand the health side, the financial side and even the esthetic side (they dont imagine themselves a few years on coughing up slime at random).

If you can make her understand some of this, then maybe she can stop in time. If not she will probabaly smoke for a few years before realising the need to quit... and then it will be a real test of character on her part to quit.

Anyway I know i wasnt much help, unfortunately there isnt all that much you can do. Good luck.

Your cousins old enough, i wouldn`t rat her out. She knows the consequences if she gets caught or continues to smoke. ♥
