LoveMeDo answered Sunday June 25 2006, 11:24 am: It's true that it could be serious, but I doubt it. If you actually have bald patches, then ignore this next bit and go to the doctor.
You could just have very weak hair, like I do. My hair isn't strong enough for brushing, washing, or straighting without losing a lot of hair. Even though i have always been like this, I've never lost hair to the point that it meant anything! You have so much hair that you have to loose a lot for that to happen. I would suggest Garnier Fructis Long and Strong conditioner. It's really helped me in thickening my hair and making it more durable. Hope I helped! kristen22 answered Sunday June 25 2006, 9:56 am: On the average, normal healthy people will loose 100 strands of hair everyday. I know my brush is FILLED with it lol. Ok, so if it's not that, then it really is hard to tell you exactly what is wrong with you without knowing is it just various strands coming out (which can be normal) or does it look like this: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
There is a hair loss disease called Alopecia. It is found in kids and pre-teens. The good news about this condition is children with Alopecia will "outgrow" the condition without need for treatment. As with all forms of Alopecia, a reversal and complete restoration of hair takes time - sometimes up to a year or more, but for the vast majority of children, it will spontaneously resolve.
Now I can't classify you with having Alopecia, as I am not a Dr. and don't even know exactly how your hair is coming out like in patches or whatever.
Drop me sum feedback and lemme know. Hope this helps~ [ kristen22's advice column | Ask kristen22 A Question ]
