hardcore and hard X core

are "hardcore" and hardXcore" the same thing? or does "hardXcore" mean you're NOT hardcore. i'm really confused! please help.

X means core, so those people are basically just saying hardcore core.

It's the same thing except of spelling hardXcore, most people just put hXc & when you translate it, it's hardcore.

I'm pretty sure it means the same. The X is just something people put in there because they thought it would look cool. I know straightedge is where you have 'x's on the backs of your hands so maybe it has something to do with that.
