makeup Foundatin doesn't really work well for me.
Is powder any good?
What's with pressed powder and the other.. loose powder?
Do you get powder that's a shade lighter than your skin color?

Well, from what I've come to know foundation is just what it sounds like. It's a foundation for the rest of your makeup so you should get a tone that is equal to your skin to even out any blemishes. With powder I'd recommend the same thing, use the same color as your skin tone or as close as you can get.
I have very light skin and use both concealer and foundation as a base for my makeup, then I put on my powder and then I do my eyeliner and such.
If you learn how to use powder and foundation effectively (just ask one of the workers at your local makeup counter for help on tones) it can make your skin look smoother and more even. Definately good. ]
Dear Friend,
Foundation and powder serve an entirely different purpose! Foundation is the base that will cover blemishes and even out your skin tone, whereas powder is the finishing touch that will set your makeup and reduce shine throughout the day.
Using a concealer can provide the same results as foundation, with a less made-up finish. Look for something non-comodegenic [Meaning it won't clog your pores], one shade lighter than your skin tone. This will allow light to reflect from the blemish, theoretically disguising it.
Match powder to your skin colour, give yourself a good dusting of loose in the morning, and touch up with a pressed compact whenever required.

Ainsley. ]
Powder is good, you can put it on where you want to, but it always gives faces that "fake" makeyupy look if you put too much on.
Pressed powder is just like a compact, and loose powder is like loose powder, like dust, and you stick the pad on it and put it on your face,
For a natural and flawless look select colors that match your skin tone or foundation as closely as possible.
Loose powder sets your makeup in the morning; pressed powder is for daily touchups. Pressed powder may seem darker because it's packed more densely. Test all colors before buying.
