issues with being shy

Question Posted Sunday June 11 2006, 10:14 pm

theres a kid named Aaron that i really like, and hes in seventh grade,im in 8th.im VERY shy and find it hard to talk to guys that i like.i really want to send him a message on myspace or something so i can start talking to him, but the problem is, i dont know what to say!i dont know him very well.i've asked all my friends, but all's they keep saying is say "hi, i know you from school,i really like you, we should go out" or something along those lines, but that isnt anything at all that i'd say.and i dont want to go out with him right away, i just want to talk and be friends with him.he knows i like him,my friends make it quite clear lol,but im not sure if he knows my name and that.

so does anyone have any ideas on what to say to get a conversation going?

thanks!sorry that was so long!

Oh wow, do not do what your friends said!
Send him a message just like "Hey, I'm [insert name] from your school. Just saw ya on myspace & thought I'd say hey."
It may sound corny a bit, but it works, trust me. Don't say anything along the lines of going out or you liking him. Just become his friend first. Good luck.

No no no dont say what your friends say.
Thats not the right thing to say, he'll think you're a physco.

Well remember he is a year younger than you, so if you ask him out and he says no, its no big deal. And also since your in 8th grade, your still really young. :)

You can send him a message on myspace, saying something short and sweet like "Heyy I think I go to school with you!" and he'll probably say somehting back, like what school do you go to? or something, and then you can start a comvo that way.

:)
