Don't worry. You are the one who fills out the name on the birth certificate. Whatever last name you want your baby to have....he will have it. :)
are you positive though- theyre not gonna tell me i cant because we're not married? weve been worried about this for a long time. i just want my child to have his last name. my father disowned me, and i dont want to put a child into this world with his last name. i want nothing to do with him.

I'm very sure! A child can be given the fathers name married or not!
They won't tell you you can't. After the babe is born sometime...probably the day after, they bring you a paper to fill out. You fill in your name, fathers name and babies name.
The choice is all yours, they won't even question it.
