side sweep and layers! how?!

hey im cutting my friends hair tomorrow after cutting her sisters the other day, her sisters went well luckily but ive had no other experience and i need to know how to cut a side fring/sweep and layers please help! x thanks x

Hi, Well I am a back yard hairdresser too but I did see a proffessional show how to cut a soft fringe. all he did was take the amount of hair you desire to fringe bring it down towards your nose cutting about the length of your nose and twist it tight then snip of the excess & using the tip if sissors snip into the end to soften the ends with a small layer. If the fringe is still too thick after this lift this same hair straight up and snip out tiny small amounts of long strands this should thin it out. Hope this helps.
