Question Posted Tuesday May 30 2006, 8:01 pm

Hey. This is pretty nasty, but I discharge a lot. And I mean a lot. Is something wrong with me? Is there a way to control it?

There is nothing wrong with you and it's normal. You can't really control it and make it stop but you can wear panty liners so it doesn't get all over your undies and you can change them whenever so it doesn't start to smell. You're probablly going to get your period soon.

A lot of discharge is pretty common. reasons why this could be is not enough oxygen {air} is coming out/in. Tight underwear, tight jeans, and pads/pantiliners/tampons could be factors. If you're wearing tight clothing, try putting on loose clothing. And make sure your underwear is cotton. Silk can trap oxygen.

It could also be from periods. A lot of discharge occurs a soon time before and after a period. This is completely normal, but once you're off it, make sure you clean the area gently with warm water only, and wear loose clothing.

These could decrease the amount of discharge. Do this for about a few weeks. If it persists of worsens, contact your physician or gynocologist.

You must just discharge more than others. It doesn't really matter. As far as I know, there's nothing you can do about it. You know though, there are whole websites devoted to girls who do that. So some guys like it. It all depends.
