I cant tell you the ideal weight for you because i dont know how tall you are. but if you dont know your ideal weight then i also suggest to you that you play around with it and see how low you can get without looking ill..
all i can say is that you want to workout..it really helps..working out and drinking plenty of water will get the weight off..
what i do is i eat what i want and make sure that i work off enough calories to kinda balance it out.
working out for me consists of taking my dog for a walk around the block and walking a steady pace on the treadmil..and these excersizes we used to do in gym class..
if you need anymore help drop one in my inbox.

Well, starving yourself isn't the answer. When you starve yourself, you lose weight too quickly and your body releases chemicals that make you smell HORRIBLE. Oh yeah, and your body eats away your organs.

Now as far as exercise; there are sooo many diets out there, and most of them work about the same. Treadmills are bad for your knees, so I'd recommend an elliptical running machine, or a bike. Either way if you want to lose (fat) weight, it needs to be cardio exercising. Weigh lifting mostly just builds muscle.
Right now what I'm doing is going every other day on an elliptical machine. You can look them up on Google image search if you don't know what they are. It's good to do cardiovascular exercise for about 30 mins at a time.
Oh yeah, I just learned that Gatoraid is a life saver. Seriously, there was an immense difference when I worked out with and without Gatoraid. It gave me enough energy to keep going for a while.
Junk foods around the house need to go. It's always good to have healthier alternatives. If you have junk around and easily accessible, you'll pretty much find yourself eating it.
PunkieFreak4690 answered Thursday May 25 2006, 8:31 am: I know just exactly how you feel! I'm overweight, myself, and at times I myself struggle with weight. I tend to ask myself what foods should I eat and what exercise is good enough to get me to rapidly (but safely) lose weight.
The things that helped me lose weight a bit was drinking lots and lots of water! But I always go for the flavored vitamin water. That helps, as well. It's OK if you can't reach that "8 glasses a day" phrase. Just drink a lot of water all throughout the day.
Some vitamins and minerals to help you would be: B6, B12, Selenium, Fiber, Calcium, and stay away from diet pills like Hydroxycut (and the like). Herbal supplements work even better! Try taking ginsing pills. They raise your energy and metabolism making it easier and 'faster' for you to lose weight. They're only a few dollars at the store. But I highly recommend getting the variety packs (the ones that have all kinds of ginsing) like korean or panax ginsing which are the strongest.
And go with your food guide pyramid as much as you can! If you must have caffeine (from drinking soda or coffee) drink water with it, too, which can help prevent from dehydration.
And get at least a half hour to an hour exercise every day. The ones that help me tone my body a little and get me to lose a few pounds pretty quickly was doing crunches. Running also helps, too and even playing sports could help. Also try doing something that you love. You can dance to music, walk your pet (if you have one), and play with your younger sublings (if you have siblings).
Be strict with junk food but not too strict. Don't ever starve yourself or you'll get the urge to eat double the food you can handle later on (anorexia and bulimia can make you do that), and it's OK to have a cookie or two on occasion. Even with getting healthy foods it's also good to get your fat and carbs for energy as well.
herbivore answered Thursday May 25 2006, 7:05 am: hey. the best thing that i would recommend is drinking PLENTY of water (6-8 full glasses a day). you have to advoid unhealthy eating habits, like junkfood inbetween meals, or eating junkfood at all. try to eat smaller meals. if you go out to eat, bet a foodbox ahead of time and put about half of your food in there and save it for another meal. it is proven that restaraunt meals are twice as big as what they were 20 years ago. excerise is key. teens need at least 60 minutes of physical activity a DAY. it can be running, playing a sport, swimming, hiking, walking a dog, etc. make sure to drink plenty of water when you excerise too. here is a site that you can check out. it has some great links:
Vikas0930 answered Thursday May 25 2006, 6:22 am: The best thing for you is to try cutting out soda, fried foods, and junk food. Eat alot of baked/grilled chicken, if you like fish eat baked fish too. Veggies and fruits make great snacks besides you should be eating alot of them anyways. Don't skip meals because it's not healthy instead try eating 5-6 small meals. Go to your doctor and I'm sure he/she could give you a meal plan that will be appropriate for you. Plus be active it doesn't matter how just as long as your moving. Oh yeah water is your best friend drink alot of it. Good Luck. :-) [ Vikas0930's advice column | Ask Vikas0930 A Question ]
