texting for verizon

i know you can call anyone in verizon for free, (IF YOU HAVE VERIZON) but can you text people for free too? thanks in advance

OH YEA, also if not, do you have to pay to recieve texts as well as to send theM?.

hey i work at verizon, the $5 text package has changed, now it's $5 for 250 messages, and $10 for unlimited to verizon customers and 500 to any one else like sprint or cingular...any other cell questions feel free to ask

If you pay the five extra dollars a month, you get unlimited texting to any verizon wireless customer. Otherwise, it's not free, you pay like ten cents every text you send, and 5 cents every text you recieve (something like that). Hope this helps.

Well i depends on your plan. You can get unlimited text messageing and stuff but if you dont already know about it then you probably dont have it. If you dont yes, it cost to both send and receive. Im not sure how much because i dot have verison. Just call and check with your company

texts are not part of the "in" plan, so no they aren't free.

and recieving them on most phones cost money too.

think of it this way, they aren't getting your money when you are calling other verizon members, so they will try to take it everywhere else they can.
