hope i helped! &hearts

It doesn't sound like OCD as you don't seem to have a compulsion to do things. Phobias are very real, very frightening and very hard to deal with. It is very sad that your parents are not taking you seriously, unfortunately, in most phobia cases, unless someone has personal experience of one, it seems very hard for them to be sympathetic.
It sounds as though, when you were too young to remember, something happened to alarm you, probably something so slight that to an adult, there was nothing to be scared of and it was forgotten. However, with your limited knowledge at that point, of what was safe and what was not, that fear turned inwards and grew, leaving you with a distressing fear.
You don't say how old you are, but is there a teacher or a school councillor you could ask for help? Tell them you have tried to talk to your parents with no success but you really want help to overcome this before it starts to rule your life. Perhaps you could go to the doctors on your own?
The problem with phobias is that if they are not tackled early on, they do grow and they become so much harder to get rid of.
Hope that helps and the best of luck to you. [ isis's advice column | Ask isis A Question ]

It's a genuine illness, and just like any other time you are ill, you need to see a doctor. If your parents won't get serious about this and take you to see a psychologist, then tell your regular codtor the next time you see him/her for anything else. They will talk to your parents and refer you to a reputable pychologist. [ Tulipg17's advice column | Ask Tulipg17 A Question ]

Everyone has a phobia, so there's probably no name for it. You should also always avoid medication at all costs. It's recommended that people go on it if they either are getting to a point where they are constantly miserable, or it's taking up 4 hours or more of your day.
