what causes herpes exactly. like if you're making out with somone who has herpes does it automatically get transfered to you. what if they have a sore in their mouth. if you touch it does it mean you will get it or does the sore have to be like cut open and sorry but one more thing. this is going to sound really immature, wel this whore question does but here goes. can you get herpes in your eye?
Tulipg17 answered Monday May 22 2006, 7:46 am: If you come in any contact with the sore (even if you can't see it yet) then you have an excellent chance on contracting the virus, and yes, you can get the sores anywhere on your body. You can even transmit them from one part of your body to another so you should avoid touching them at all costs. Some people will come in contact witht he virus but never develop and sores (lucky) but most people do ge thte sores. If you see one on somebody you love, do not come in contact until it is completely gone, or use their lip glosses, share drinks, ect. If you get a sore in your eye, go see a doctor. Eye sores have been know to cause blindness. [ Tulipg17's advice column | Ask Tulipg17 A Question ]

Sores from herpies can develop around mucus membranes or wet parts of your body, such as your mouth, eyes, anus or genitalia.
If you kiss somebody with a cold sore, you can get one as well. Once you have cold sores there is no way to make it go away. It will come up every so often for the rest of your life.
If he touches his own cold soar/fever blister/herpies on his mouth, and then touches your vagina, eyes or mouth, there is a chance that it could spread. If he were to make direct contact from his mouth to your vagina, you could contract it much more easily than the previous way I just mentioned.
The same goes for him. If he touches his own mouth, and then his genitals, it could spread down there, and then he'd get it there for the rest of his life.
There is Herpies Simplex 1 and 2 viruses. Simplex 1 usually occurs on the mouth, and 2 usually on your privates, but not always.
Around 80% of the population gets a cold sore on their mouth at least once in their life. 40% of people have recurring sores (if I remember right). [ Krupple's advice column | Ask Krupple A Question ]
