just become more active. cut down on the mcdonalds and junk food. it'll take a little while to get used to, i can say that from experience, but once you are used to it, it'll be easy to just forget about them. ask your mom or whoever buys the groceries to try and get healthier foods, so there wont be anything to tempt you with.
i happen to really like pasta, unfortunately it has millions of calories, so try from lean cusine. its got a very low amount of calories, but still rather tasty. (: stopped drinking sodas, i worship you. i could never do that, no matter how hard i try. my friends are really skinny too, and it usually lowers my spirits, because i used to be 125 and it took me forever to get used to dieting and get down to 103, while my friends dont do any extra exercise or dieting, and they're all 90 pounds.
finding clothes that fit can also bring you down. i know it brings me down alot, since nowadays no one has any plus sizes and the larges all look like smalls.
just be active over the summer. you'll look good while you're doing it. eat healthier foods. don't weigh yourself all the time or look at yourself in the mirror, just exercise and you'll look fine. mirrors and scales usually lie anyways, because people who work out get muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat, just like usually when you look at yourself in the mirror you always wish you were skinnier, even if you're already skinny.

What the others don't realize is that it isn't always quite that easy is it?
I have hypothyroidism as well. It is a constant battle. We have very little metabolism function and it is tough. If you are able to exercise that will help a lot.
Talk to your doctor next time you need a blood check. See if he/she has any tips.
If you start to feel sluggish, forgetful, or if your muscles start cramping or aching...go get a blood test done. Mine is always going nuts and I have to change the dosage of my medicine now and then. I don't know how long you have known you have thyroid problems, but it will get so you can tell if you know what to look for.
Taking the wrong dosage doesn't help in the battle not to gain weight.
phantom_phreak99 answered Sunday May 21 2006, 1:08 am: exersie exersise exersise. you have to work out. take walks, do sit ups, bike ride, something that will give your body a chance to ditch the little bit of extra padding it might have. if you want detailed advice, here it is:
1) turn on your favorite (better if up-beat and with a steady rhythym like "CASCADA") and work out for half an hour before you go to bed. set a time (no shorter than one minute) and do sit ups. then, for the next thirty seconds, do a relaxing stretch. then for the next minute do push-ups. then splits. keep going for as long as you can, and don't give up! if you really want to loose weight, work hard!
2) walk briskly. i walk about two miles (there and back) from my school. i don't mildly strole, i actualy WALK. try it. i'm pretty fit.
hope it helps! but, the one thing above all to remember is not to give in. if you want to get thinner, you have to keep working even if you are tired, or don't feel like it, or are HUNGRY, don't give in. you are worth it! go for the gold! :-) [ phantom_phreak99's advice column | Ask phantom_phreak99 A Question ]
