From mostly what my guy-friends say, these are what most of them like:
-funny, can make him laugh and laugh at his jokes.
-naturally good-looking, like not too much makeup or look like they're trying too hard.
-totally real, not fake at all.
-laid back and cool
-being able to be comfortable around them
-smells good (lol)
-not too clingy, but not distant and cold either.
-a girl who has bad history with other guys

- amazing sense of humor
- smiles && smiles when she around him even tho shes having a down day
- wild & crazy.

Confidence is the key. Here are some other ideas.
1)Have a sense of humor
2)Be fun to be around
3)Don't act like the normal backstabbing, selfish, stuck up teenage bitch
4)Be yourself
5)Act a little curious..make him think about you
6)and of course...BE CONFIDENT
