I think that this choice is based on how you feel. If you know you're not going to have fun, then you should just tell him that you don't want to attend the dance because it's not you, and then maybe another time you guys could meet up like on a date or something. Although, you never know, the dance could actually be really fun even if you don't dance. I think that you should follow your gut and best instinct on what to do. Also, I hope your operation goes well and that you will be able to recover quickly. Best of wishes, and Good Luck!

First of all sorry about your knee. This was the only thing i could think of. It really is completely your choice to go or not but it depends on what YOU want. If you wanna go with him by all means, go and have a good time. If you decide not to then tell him you really wanted to go with him and that you are sorry but you dont want to bring him down and hold him back from having a good time (this is only if you decide to not go). If he says that he doesnt care and he still wants to go with you then i think that you should go because if he says he doesnt care then that means he really does want to go with YOU.What yo do depends on whether or notyou decide to go. If it will be painful and you will hurt at the dance then maybe you shouldnt go, but if you think you will be okay and wanna have a good time then just go have a good time.

Sorry i couldn't be of more help. Hope everything turns out ok. just ask if you have any more questions.
