i don't have my period yet but i should be expecting it soon and since summer is coming up i go swimming a lot so i've been wanting to use tampons. is it okay if i just practice putting the applicator up my vagina? not the whole tampon, just the applicator. thanks! by the way, you give out great advice!

KELLY_ELIZABETH answered Thursday May 11 2006, 6:04 pm: well thanks hun =] .. anyway to your question- i deffinitally wouldnt reccomend it. on the sides of the box, it says specifically not too. plus, its gonna hurt you more because when your on your period, your vagina is wet which makes it easier. but when your not - your vagina is dry. when its dry, it is going to irritate the walls and will hurt A LOT more. if you arent menistrating, it can increase your chance of deleloping Toxic Shock Syndrome. also, for your first period - i wouldnt reccomened using tampons. just for the first one. because you dont know how heavy your flow is going to be, so it could increase the risk of you developing Toxic Shock Syndrome (once again). anymore questions - im always here
