Well, I think all the other answers covered it but I'll try and help answer what they didn't.
I used to be a cutter and let me tell you it is not the way to go. After a hard day at school everything seemed to build up so when I was home alone or just in my room by myself, I would take scissors, a knife, glass, and once even a razor blade and broke the skin on places on my body to make it bleed.
By doing this I was focus more on the physical pain than the emotional pain. I usually didn't do it on my wrists like some people do because that was easy for others to see so I did it on my ankles or upper thighs where it wasnt as likly to be seem.
If there is anything else you need or want to know email me xoleah12ox@yahoo.com.

I have a friend who cuts herself and it's not good. but like it's a way you harm your body with sharp objects...and just like it says you cut youself and i'm not gonna give you any ideas on where because there are certain spots that can make you die. and cutting is very serious...it's a mental problem and an emotional problem...and like no don't get any ideas to cut yourself if you do talk to someone you trust and yea people do love you and you don't want to leave everything you've accomplished. don't commit suicide. or anything if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me at sgarrison@fuse.net i'll be sure to help you and nothing will be posted...it's all confidential!

ok you basically cut yourself when you're depressed and you kinda hate your life and everything... so you just get something sharp like scissors and just kinda slit your arms.. and the pain is supposedly supposed to relieve you of your emotional problems, but it's really not the right way! and most will do it in the bathroom i guess.. anyways lol i hope this doesn't encourage you to cut or anything! anyways hope i helped! :) ♥ rachel [new columnist! ask me whatever you want anytime!]

I seriously don't want to give anyone ideas so ..

cutting is injuring yourself on purpose by making scratches or cuts on your body with a sharp object - enough to break the skin and make it bleed -

It can be hard to understand why people cut themselves on purpose. Cutting is what experts call an unhealthy coping mechanism. This means that the people who do it have not developed healthy ways of dealing with strong emotions, intense pressure, or upsetting relationship problems.

Don't do it, it's not good. :
