Hey there, honu22, I read your post on Adam and Eve and just want you to know that even if there were other humans on the earth to help populate it, there still needs to be a beginning of the human race which necessitates one male and female to begin the whole procreative process, so we find ourselves back at square one. Yes, Adam and Eve were our original parents and yes their children mated with each other until God put an end to it before the "inbreeding" and subsequent blood lines posed serious health risks. At this point "incest" became taboo and became sinful, because any further inbreeding would produce undesirable genetic defects. Also take into consideration that Eve (superwoman) could have had multiple children during every pregnancy and it is possible that the jestation period during pregnancy may have been much shorter in those days. It is also possible that Eve may have been able to have children for hundreds of years. To the best of my knowledge the Bible does not specify how old Cain and Able were at the time of the murder, so Eve could have had a number of pregnancies before the first murder took place. If Cain and Able were 200 years old at the time of Able's demise and if their mother, Eve, was giving birth to twins every year for 200 years, then she could have given birth to 398 children who in turn could have done the same and the next thing you know you have hundreds of thousands of humans if not millions of them. I truly believe Adam and Eve were breeding machines as well as their offspring, because it was necessary at the time and according to God's will. Good luck and God bless...SaintJohn
