I really like the idea of writing about an empty playground. It is incredibly symbolic. You could discuss the loss of innocence in society, the significance of a play ground on a child's development.. there's so many things you could do!!

good luck- :)

I think that Sonnets should come from the heart, so I don't really belive in teachers making a child write a piece that is supposed to be heartfelt.

My advice is to be very open to any ideas or instincts. If you are thinking about something, write. Do not be worried about it being dumb. If you cannot think of anything, then just choose an everyday item (pepper shaker, pillow, coffe can) and discribe it.

Good Luck

A good thing to do while you are trying to write a poem, story, sonnet or whatever it may be is to listen to a song that inspires you. A song that gets you in a certain mood, something you can relate to. You can write a sonnet on:

Love
Friendship
Betrayel
Deception
Temptations

Write about something that is based on you. Something unique, something you can relate to. Think about how you feel or how you want to feel.
