abs

Question Posted Monday May 8 2006, 7:26 pm

I have a question about my stomach muscles. I have been working well on my abs, doing regular crunchies and sit-ups, etc. But the area right below my bellybutton and to the left and right of it push out more(If I look at myself in the mirror sideways). What are some ways I can reduce this so I have a flatter stomach all the way through? I'm a freshman in highschool and I work out 4-5 days a week, running atlesat 1-2 miles a day. Thanks!

It might be that those muscles have been overworked and that is why you have more definition there. Defined abs are great, but if you don't like the look then lay off the ab exercises for awhile and just run. Why do you work out so much, are you training for something?

Well sometimes if you do ab workouts incorrectly it can push the stomache muscles out and cause them to buldge, so be careful.

Its not how many times you work out either, its how you are doing the exercises, how you are breathing.
