best substitute birth control method

Question Posted Monday April 24 2006, 11:51 pm

Hey im Jessica ♥ 18/f ... I came upon your site googling sumthin totally different and afta readin a lot of tha advice you've given, i'm glad i came upon it because your absolutely awesome! But yeh, im tryna figure out a way to have great sex n not get pregnant. Me n my fiance definitely love eachother n we want children in the future just not anytime soon, you kno. But theres a really bad history of birth control pills having the worst side effects, especially fatal blood clots to the women in my family. i dunno why it jus does (i found that out from my mom shez always warned me not to go on any birth control pills) n condoms suck so completely ive tried so many different special "his n her extra pleasure" condoms n they rele dont work. i feel nuthin wen compared to doin it raw. so for the last few months he's just been pulling out but i hear that duznt alwyz werk? or duz it? l0l worryin bout if im gunna get pregnant evry time getz scary... iz there nething else i could use besides birth control pills n condoms to prevent unwanted pregnancy? i also heard about this thing called spermicide but i dont rele kno wat it is or how it works or wat the side effects on that might be? i kno its a long question(s), rele sorry, but id appreciate it so much if u could give me the best answer in your opinion,

P.S. no matter what i still think your site (n other sites like it) is great, theres not enough places for young people to turn to these days without gettin sum useless talk about "how we shudve waited n no contact w/ the opposite sex is the key" instead of how to fix the problem, wats normal n abnormal, how to be safe... what yall r doin is REAL LIFE n itz absolutely COMMENDABLE. thankz bunchez on da realz :)

I AM SO SORRY, about getting back to you so late. I didn't even notice that your question was in my inbox. Sorry, again.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you came across my page and came to ask me a question. Hopefully I'll be able to answer it good. And thanks for the PS information; you're far too kind and I totally agree with you :]

As for your question, yes you are correct. Having sex without a condom, but pulling out isn't the best way. There's ALWAYS a chance of him pulling out too late and such, so there's going to be a chance of you getting pregnant. Also, condoms aren't 100% safe either, but they're way better then having sex raw. It's a greater chance of getting pregnant if you don't have a condom.

I haven't heard of spermicide, at least I don't think I have? I suggest going to your doctor and asking him/her about these things (or even looking it up on the internet.) I know your doctor knows way more about these questions then I would, since that is his/her job. Just tell him/her your problem and see if there is a way around this. Ask your doctor about other birth control methods too, such as the patch or the needle. I'm sure something will work out. Good luck. ♥
