sorry i didnt know what category this should be, but please

Question Posted Friday April 21 2006, 9:38 am

ok, so i recently quit a sport that i had done for like a really long time. i quit for a lot of reasons but one was mostly because i was fed up with being the slowest one out of my group of friends even though i had been on the team way longer than any of them. (dont get my wrong, i love all of those friends to death!) but i also quit because i felt like that sport was taking up my life and like i wanted to be able to hang out with my friends more and i hated going to practices and all that. but now that ive quit ive been going to the gym every day and trying to eat healthier, but my mom especially keeps on pointing out that ive gained wait and she keeps on making comments about it and shes making me feel really self-consious. ive tried telling her to stop but she keeps on saying that i should go back to the sport. but even if i wanted to go back to the sport i feel like things wouldnt be the same between me and my friends, or me and my coach. i also feel like im losing all of my friends that i had on that team, because i never see them any more and a lot of those girls were some of my best friends. so basically, i dont want to go back to the team, but i do want to maintain my weight and keep my friends! any suggestions? (sorry, this was really long)

hunni.. dont worry your friends on the team wouldnt be mad at you if thats what your thinking and if you did go back they would probably be really happy and it wont be akward and your coach.. well he cant get mad at you for coming back! but if thats not what you want to do then maybe try running every day and excersize a lot and if your not satisfied then maybe you should join your team again but no pressure.. lol... anyways just sit your mom down or something and just be like "MOM i love you its just that... (then just tell her everything your feeling)" she should understand. about your friends from the team.. instead of just talking about hanging out actually take ACTIONS! maybe have a party or im pretty certain thatt one of your friends will be having a party sinse summer is coming and that is the PARTY season.. lol.. and maybe if there arent any partys coming up invite one of your friends over and go to the mall or movies and actually set a date and time.. so it will actually be happening and it wont just be put off and never really thought about except occasionally.. i hope i helped and if you need any more advice then just leave a question. =] love you
