Pop
What is pop music? I mean, the Beatles are regarded as pop but people hate on pop all the time! They think it's only limited to Britney Spears. Doesn't pop just mean popular? Or did later the meaning changed and included people who can't play their own instruments? If so, pop stars have to dance when on stage so they make up for that, right? Can someone help me with this distinction? Are there subcategories in pop music just like there is in rock?

popular music
and rock and pop combined which would make pop-rock music.

i always thought pop was something really up beat and makes u want to dance. i noticed lots of pop bands dance using mainly their feet and break dancing moves in their videos. justin timberlake is/was pop, i also think n*cynch(spl?) was too. Britney spears was defently pop. Thats all i got ;)

Well if you look on google the definition of it is in two ways, the first one is,music of general appeal to teenagers; a bland watered-down version of rock'n'roll with more rhythm and harmony and an emphasis on romantic love.And the second one is Depending on context, pop music is either an abbreviation of popular music or, more recently, a term for a sub-genre of it.Here ill give you the link to it : [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
Basically there is different types of "pop music" like there ones for teenagers,mainstream pop,heck theres even korean pop music! i hope that answers your question,it made me think what exactly pop music was too.
