You can do it the way that everyone knows: Cut your meal portions, no snacks, no sugary drinks. Lots of water. And of course exercise(walking everyday for 30 minutes) And you'll actually lose a lot of weight.
But there is another way, that requires no exercise, but a lot of work on your part. It's called the 'Low Carb Diet' and if you have ever heard of Atkins, South Beach thats basically it. You lose about 5-12 lbs the two weeks and 1-3 lbs a week after that.
