I had a similar situation when I went on holiday a few years ago. However, I spoke to the doctor and he gave me pills to take to stop myself coming on.

You start taking them a few days before your period is due, then take one every day until you are ready for your period to come.

I would suggest you speak to your doctor and see if they can provide you with this. Otherwise, you may have to accept you will be stuck with using tampons I'm afraid.

There is one way to stop (or control) your periods, and that is the contaceptive Pill. It is not the intended use, but it is generally recognised as safe. (have a look at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location))

I suggest you talk about it with your doctor though just in case, as effects could vary depending on which type of pill you are using.

However, if you don't want to use the pill, then a tampon is your only option as the others say. Good luck!

If we could stop our period that would freakn awesome but we cant. All you can do is wear a tampon. You can get in the water.
