Question Posted Monday April 3 2006, 6:55 pm

Hey, does anyone know any GOOD virus scan programs (that are free!)? Ad-Aware just isn't cutting it. Thank you.

Adaware isn't a virus scanning program, that is used for Adware/Spyware

And downloading that program. Avast! is an excellent, and free program for virus scanning. It even updates itself!

Ad-aware (as already stated) definitely does NOT search for viruses. Spyware =/= viruses.

Completely free and in-depth virus scanner. Functions the same as any other scanner you would pay money to own, such as McAfee or Norton. Highly recommended.

Ad-Aware isn't a virus scan program. It's actually designed to look for spyware. You can find a free online virus scanner at the link below. Use it in addition to Ad-Aware and the program younggrandma recommended and it should keep your computer going good.

I use this one in addition to ad-aware.

Spybot Search and Destroy

****EDIT*******

Oh heck, I saw ad-aware and read it wrong. The others are right. The AVG virus program suggested by AGEHA is the one I use. Works great. :)
