You like him as more than a friend or just because he is your best friend and you don't want to loose him as your best friend. If it is because you like him as more than a friend then just politely tell him that you are currently in a relationship but that no one ever knows what the future holds. And make sure he knows that no matter what happens you two will always be friends. Now if the reason you are so conserned is because he is your best friend and you don't want to loose him as such. Then sit him down and tell him that you are currently in a relationship and even if you weren't you don't think you would want to date him. Because although he is a great guy, he is your best friend. And you would be afraid that if the relationship didn't work out that you might loose his friendship. And he means too much to you as a friend for you to let or want that to happen. When you explain it to him this way everything should be fine. I am pretty sure that he will be understanding. Just don't be so scared about it. Have faith and trust in him, that he will be as understanding as I am sure he will be. [ FiestyPoet's advice column | Ask FiestyPoet A Question ]

Its just that if you are so concerned about his feelings, maybe you liked him a bit? Either way, if he's a real friend he will understand, and if he really loves you he'll be happy for you. Don't give him empty promises like when all's not working out with your BF, maybe u and him can hook up or something... because that would make the pain even worse ;) [ sherrynikko's advice column | Ask sherrynikko A Question ]
