I'd be pleased if I could WALK a mile in under 20 minutes, let alone run it in 12! Trust me there is nothing at all wrong with your abilities and what worries me more than your concerns over how good you are is that you are cutting school to avoid dealing with it.
I don't want to sound preachy and parental but I really can't stress to you the importance of being at school as much as possible and making the most of it. I left nearly 4 years ago and I deeply regret not having made more of an effort. Obviously, the thing foremost in your mind right now is Track, but you can't let yourself slip in other areas because of it.
You ARE a good runner and if you keep training you'll get to be even better but you can't keep putting so much pressure on yourself. The reason you probably don't always do as well as you could is because you're pushing yourself too hard. Even Olympic athletes need to take some time out once in a while and try to forget about it.
Keep an equal balance between training and resting, keep up the hard work in school and it will all work out. Everyone is average at everything until they practise enough to be better and just for the record, in my opinion, a mile in under 12 minutes is well above average! Then next week youll run 1 mile and 1/4 and keep that up. Dont stress...it's more than about 60% of people can do...including me

Which event do you like the best and enjoy the most? Sign up for that one. If you focus on one area you will get better and better at it.
