I was just wondering: what are your thoughts on starting school/letting your children start school a year earlier? Do you have any own experiences with this? Is there any cons; and what are the pros? Anything you shoúld think about before making the decision? How do you think your life would be different if you did/ didn't start a year earlier? Any opinions you have on this would be appreaciated.
Love,Alyssia.

some of the pros are that they are going to be older and ahead of their peers and for whatever reason if they ever need held back they wont be alot older than everyone else.
i think the cons are you are not nes. mature enough to be where you are and you can't make your brain mature faster when you are younger things come when they come and sometimes the longer you wait the better. like with reading they have done studies that most kids arent ready to read till they 11 and they were forced at the age or 7 and that is why they hate it now.

hopeihelped answered Sunday March 19 2006, 10:44 am: There are a ton of kids in my grade that are younger than me because they started school earlier. I don't really see the big deal about it, but sometimes it sucks being the young one for them. But.. if the teachers think they're too immature to move on at the rate that they're going, they'll hold them back in their early elementary school years.
