xoMarisox answered Saturday March 18 2006, 7:48 pm: Here is what you can do:
1)Ask for extra credit
2)Ask your teachers to come in before, after school whenever for some help.
3)Ask how you could bring your grade up
4)Get a tutor
5)Ask a freind to tutor you.
6)Work so hard.. study..do all your homework..ask questions..answer questions..etc.
Tips for tests:
1)Eat a good breakfast
2)Go to bed early- get a good nights sleep.
3)Take three deep breahtes before starting your test
4)Relax
5)Study alot.
Ask yourself, what are the areas in this subject I need to concentrate more in and what I'm stuggling on? Then concentrate on that subject and you should be fine. My math grade isn't great right now and I did those things and I brought it up a whole letter grade. Hope that helped <33 [ xoMarisox's advice column | Ask xoMarisox A Question ]
__darkpearlsx answered Saturday March 18 2006, 7:47 pm: urgh. i hate when parents don't see that
you are trying hard. just talk to your mom/dad
about it BEFORE the report card comes out. tell
them that you are trying really hard. and ask your teachers if there is any extra credit you could do

pootietang answered Saturday March 18 2006, 6:01 pm: Since you're 13, you're probably in 6th or 7th grade, meaning that you're in middle school. I know that you're trying really hard, and believe me I know how it feels to try so hard but not be good enough. =/ But to tell you the truth, middle school doesn't count. It really doesn't. I'm not telling you to just stop working because it doesn't amount to anything, I'm saying that if you are honestly giving it your all (which should only take 1-2 hours a day in middle school), then that's that. You can't do better than your best, can you? That wouldn't even make sense. lol.
But really, if you do your homework accurately, pay attention in class, and study for a reasonable amount of time, then you shouldn't be making bad grades. Ask your teacher what you need to work on more (ie. Homework, tests, projects, etc.), and ask how you can improve (better study habits, better time management, etc.).
To me, high school is easier than middle school, but that's just me. So try your best (but don't overdo it) and that's all someone can ask for. If your grades are dropping in more than 2 classes, then you should start to worry, but otherwise just keep trying and don't give up! Hang in there!
PS: If you're struggling in a math class for example, then DON'T take an honors math class in high school, but if you're doing really well in history/social studies, then take honors history in high school.
GOOD LUCK!
---EDIT---
A's and B's are good! If your parents can't see that then that's their fault, not yours. It isn't good that your teachers don't care, and it also isn't good that you spent 4 hours on homework =/

naimee answered Saturday March 18 2006, 2:27 pm: Make sure that you turn in ALL of your homework. Study for tests, I've always used like pastel colored index cards and then I always decorate my study notes, lol. It makes it funner for me to study, so maybe you should try that? Haha. I don't know if you have one of these at your school, but at my school we have a CLC - it's like a tutoring place you go for like help with reports & English, and then we have CMC which is Math tutoring. Incase you're having trouble grasping onto whatever you're learning.
Also, if you're really having trouble ask your teacher for help, or ask him/her if there's anyway you could boost your grade a few points by extra credit or sometype of test correction. [ naimee's advice column | Ask naimee A Question ]

Chicagostar113 answered Saturday March 18 2006, 12:09 pm: make sure your parents see you when you study (sit in an obvious place)or ask them to "help". If they out line your study guide and your grades are still low its kinda their fault, because they showed you how to study and your still doing bad. And if you need more options cause i know talking to parents is tough then see your teacher, extra credit is always good. Take some time off from your social life and friends and focus on your studies untill your grades get a little better. Think of it as a reward if you finish studying (i mean really focusing) then go to a movie with friends or get a snack. [ Chicagostar113's advice column | Ask Chicagostar113 A Question ]
